I asked myself a serious question recently.
What do I truly believe when I set my mind to achieve something?
The answer came to me almost immediately.
At the core of my certainty was not just my effort, my planning, or even my motivation.
It was the belief that Allah had already accepted my dua.
I knew it was written, and I knew the timing belonged to Allah.
So I made another dua. Ya Allah, make this journey easy for me and grant me the tools I need to prepare for what I have asked. And that is exactly what happened.
Doors opened effortlessly. The right resources, guidance, and people appeared at the right time.
It was not a coincidence. It was divine orchestration.
This experience reminded me of The Expectation Effect by David Robson. The book explores how our beliefs shape our reality, how our mindset influences our outcomes, and how what we expect often becomes our truth.
Except, in my case, my expectation was not rooted in mere self-belief. It was rooted in Allah.
I was unknowingly taking part in this psychological phenomenon, except my focus was not on personal manifestation but on divine decree.
I knew I was not going to open doors for myself. Allah would be the one to place barakah in my path. My job was simply to take the steps, trust His plan, and remain open to His guidance.
Letting Go of the Outcome and Trusting the Journey
So I released the weight of the outcome. I stopped overthinking when or how it would happen, and instead, I focused on becoming the person who was ready to receive it.
With every step I took, I moved forward in hope, holding onto the best opinion of Allah.
And now, I want to remind you.
Dream bigger than you ever have before.
Have unwavering faith in Allah’s power. Trust in His limitless ability to provide, knowing that nothing is beyond Him.
It is not your job to figure out how things will unfold. Your only job is to turn to the One who makes all things possible.
Can you even imagine what your biggest dua looks like to Al-Khaliq, the Creator of all things? Nothing. Absolutely nothing is beyond Him.
So trust, ask, prepare, and expect, because Allah never disappoints those who believe in Him.
With love and dua,
Zainab x
