It’s true we always assume what readily available in the Internet is the truth. We forget that Internet is the avenue for only to polish part of ourselves to come through.
I love your take on Pride and Prejudice, making me want to read it again with a new eyes!
So true about his actions because even after making all those mistakes, he went back to right his wrongs and to gently get her approval without force. This is something that should be instilled and encouraged in every man (and woman)
Absolutely! His willingness to reflect, take responsibility, and make amends without force is what made him truly honourable. That kind of integrity and humility should be encouraged in both men and women. A true sign of strength is not just avoiding mistakes but correcting them with sincerity!
“Mr Darcy was misjudged at first because he did not perform for an audience. It was his actions, his quiet sacrifices, his consistent honour, that revealed his worth.”
I mean… come on! I’m in love with this post because of the gems in there and the reference to pride & prejudice which I’m in love with!
I’m going to return to read this over and over again. Introspection on another level! Love it!
We are all guilty of being drawn to Mr Darcy’s personality, it elevates romance to another level of fantasy. Yet, his core qualities remain timeless. Thank you for reading Zara, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! 💕
This was a very refreshing read, such a nice way to start the morning. I love how you related the book to Islamic view of courtship and marriage. It makes me want to read the book again, with fresh eyes, new angle and a brand new perspective to it.
And I agree completely with, "a woman has to verify and seek guidance from others who can see beyond what she wants to believe", because love as they say, can be blinding.
Thank you Ree 😊. I admired the decorum and the way they courted with dignity and clear intentions for marriage. It resonates with Muslim women as our approach carries even more refinement. Growing up it was my fantasy novel and a story that with a few twists could beautifully resonate with a Muslim girl’s perspective.
I love the piece about not chasing a man. I think in today's society the lines have blurred and society has made it seem more acceptable for women to chase men. But I don't believe the right man would even have to be chased.
"The right man does not need an audience to prove his sincerity." Okay, that part got me.
I love sincere guys who do good when no one is looking. 😄

Thank you for reading Nurul , I’m glad you liked my take. Yes! I’ll be reading it again too 💕

It’s final! You’re one of my top favorites here on Substack! 🫶🏽
Aww thank you Zara, that’s so kind 💕😊

What if Elizabeth Bennett was a Muslim woman, had me gagged!🥹🤭
Right, because deep down, I want my sisters to marry well and experience the love, respect, and security they truly deserve! 💕

10/10 write up, Zainab. Absolutely brilliant!💯❤️

Thank you, Leena. Yeah, it’s not in their fitrah to be chased. They like to win the affection of a woman in a dignified way.
